Position Overview:

This position will play a dual role within the accounting/ finance organization.  This position will be responsible for preparing analysis around our third-party activity as well as royalties.  This will include preparing journal entries and reconciliations for the monthly general ledger close as well as assisting in the preparation and distribution of various financial reports.  In addition, this position will also work with our FP&A team to prepare third-party plan amounts as well as forecasts on a quarterly basis.  As part of this activity, this position will prepare reports for business leaders within our third-party group.   

You will also be responsible for defining new processes, analyzing financial results and ensuring the accuracy of revenue, third party cost and expenses for Netsmart's third-party line of business. This role will serve as a liaison between several Netsmart teams and will also interact on a regular basis with our clients and suppliers. This role will create new processes relating to the establishment of new support contracts, renewal of existing contracts, administration of discontinuing support for cancellations and coordination of third party supplier agreements. This is a vital position in the company with high visibility and an opportunity to work with the line of business executive team. 

Job Responsibilities:
• Prepare and post journal entries, including the maintenance of standard journal entries. Adhere to monthly closing calendar deadlines and communicate any issues on a timely basis.
• Perform GL account reviews, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions.
• Prepare general ledger account reconciliations.

•  Conducts research and analysis of client billing and revenue to create data input for contract amendments.

•  Conducts thorough review of contract amendments to calculate/report on financial impact of pending amendments/terminations.

•  Works closely with sales team and business operations to correctly record bookings.

•  Strong research and analysis skills of financial statements and contracts.

•  Excellent communication skills; will work daily with many teams within Netsmart including sales, sales operations, business operations, legal, revenue recognition etc.
• Responsible for generating royalty calculations and reports, preparing monthly accrual journal entries and the setup of any new royalty calculations.
• Analysis of third party accounts, verification of invoicing and revenue recognition for third party products and the oversight of third party vendor bills.
• Reporting, margin analysis and reconciliations of third party vendors.
• Daily communication with third party vendors as well as internal departments. 
• Use of Salesforce to review client contracts, delivery information, and the creation of cases.
• Assist with annual external audit. Complete requested materials. Assist in preparing assigned schedules for the annual and interim audit.
• Continuously identify, develop, and implement process improvements and internal controls.
• Contribute to department and organization special projects as needed.
• Provide support to the Finance Controller and the FP&A department.


Experience Required:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, CPA a plus
• Minimum of 5 years accounting work experience and related financial analysis experience
• Proficient computer skills including strong working knowledge of Excel and accounting systems
• Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team and against established deadlines
• Attention to detail with excellent organization skills and ability to multi-task
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate across organizational functions
