The Project Operations Manager will be responsible for all financial and related aspects of consulting projects, controlling activities as well as creating and maintaining financial data, supporting project controls improvement, and providing analysis throughout the life of projects specifically in the Public Sector, although cross support in other areas in the consulting organization may also be required.

Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for supporting the engagement’s financial health and budgets.
  • Work with Consulting practices and centers to coordinate resource staffing and allocation for various roles that are needed to deliver the project on time and budget.
  • Demonstrates in-depth understanding of revenue recognition and billing processes related to professional services.
  • Create and manage opportunities for push services through
  • Act as the conduit between Consulting and other lines of business such as; engineering, accounting, sales, and support regarding engagement activities
  • Facilitates all event communications and drives information exchange between the client and Netsmart project teams.
  • Provides weekly and monthly status reports for all active projects for engagement leadership.
  • Owns and drives cases that require support from other lines of business such as engineering and support.
  • Support the project team to maintain compliant with Netsmart’s methodology.

Job Requirements:

Demonstrates the ability to control multiple engagements that vary in size and complexity. Manages revenue, cash, and overall project and practice financial health on a day-to-day basis. Provide direction and guidance to the Netsmart and client project teams regarding methodology and deliverables assuring they are consistent with the project plan. Responsible for capacity planning, management, and staffing for their respective teams.


  • 2-5 years’ experience in consulting and professional services organization
  • BA/BS in business administration with an emphasis in information systems, or BS in information systems, MBA is a plus
  • Understanding of GAAP and consulting accounting practices
  • A background in the HIT software industry with experience in high growth companies preferred
  • Advanced skills in the use of common business tool sets including MS Office and
  • 25% or less travel is required
