The Position

In order to execute its growth strategy, Netsmart Technologies, Inc. is seeking an outstanding General Manager to lead business segments focused on our telehealth, telemonitoring, and telecollaboration line of business.

The General Manager will have P&L responsibility and provide day-to-day operational and strategic leadership for the business segment playing a prominent role in creating the go-to-market strategy and defining the value proposition.

The General Manager will cultivate existing client relationships and build new client relationships by ensuring the highest client satisfaction and ultimately ensuring that each client will provide a positive reference for Netsmart.

Key Responsibilities 

The General Manager will have a broad set of objectives and responsibilities including the following:

  • Plan, develop and implement the business strategy for the portfolio, inclusive of telehealth, remote patient monitoring, and affiliated solutions and capabilities
  • Oversee a P&L and work across the Netsmart matrix organization to operationalize the plan to achieve objectives
  • Provide executive leadership and management for product commercialization (definition & development), sales, services, implementation and support
  • Contribute to the development of Netsmart Technologies’ overall strategy, serving as a key member of the business’ executive management team 
  • Manage partner relationships and develop shared market and business objectives
  • Create a well-disciplined operating environment resulting in a highly efficient and client focused model; tracks business performance, ultimately driving the highest levels of client satisfaction
  • Plan and direct the organization’s activities to achieve stated/agreed targets and standards for financial, quality, engineering and operational performance
  • Ensure activities meet organizational requirements for quality management
  • Maintain and develop organizational culture, values and reputation in its markets and with all associates, clients, suppliers and partners 
  • Develop and implement strategic business plans to provide for long-term business growth
  • Provide leadership through an entrepreneurial, visionary approach that promotes best practices, market-driven  analysis of product strategy and customer focus 
  • Work closely with key clients to fully understand their current and future needs; possess the executive presence for successful customer interaction
  • Take true ownership of all aspects of the business, work diligently to ensure goals and objectives are met and exceeded  

Candidate Profile

  • The General Manager must be a seasoned, action-oriented visionary, with inherent “executive presence”.  Detailed knowledge of the healthcare information technology space and in particular the telehealth space is desired.
  • Candidates must possess a history of delivering results, the ability to formulate strategies, communicate to the appropriate audience and a proven record of execution against sales and strategic objectives.
  • The successful candidate must be energetic, motivated, and a self-starter and have a proven track record of leading the overall management of a business unit.
  • The successful candidate must possess natural leadership skills and serve as the solution evangelist.  He/She must be immediately recognizable as a leader and possess outstanding communication skills.
  • The successful candidate must possess a global mindset, and be able to work effectively with diverse cultures and constituents.
  • The successful candidate must possess a detailed understanding of the trends and innovations within the healthcare marketplace.  In addition, he/she will possess knowledge and experience in the virtual collaboration space. 

Specific experience should include:

  • General management and full P&L responsibility running a complex operation;.  Ideal candidate will possess successful line management experience with a record of meeting objectives and delivering bottom line results
  • A clear track record of success as a leader, managing a full range of human, financial and physical resources needed to achieve objectives & goals consistently;
  • A take-charge orientation; a strong leader with excellent analytic and diagnostic skills; yet, more importantly, the proven ability to lead and motivate individuals.
  • Expertise in a healthcare technology product dominated organization, preferably in healthcare IT and software solutions
  • A commitment to team-work, team building, providing partnerships and involvement in decision-making; excellent coach and developer of people
  • Highly developed process mindset and results orientation with an entrepreneurial personality

    Critical Competencies and Personal Attributes  

  • Knowledgeable of market trends in the Healthcare marketplace with a focus on telehealth  
  • Experience with telemonitoring or consumer engagement strategies is a plus
  • Ability to continuously evaluate trends as they relate to necessary adjustments in the marketing strategy and product requirements in order to assure marketing objectives are met on schedule and within budget
  • Possess the technical capacity to understand clinical procedural aspects relevant to all Healthcare Information Solutions  
  • An excellent problem solver who recognizes new or improved ways of doing business, who acts on implementing needed improvements and who analyzes new opportunities efficiently and thoroughly
  • A driver who takes ownership and leadership of projects requiring multidisciplinary approaches, including effective delegation to critical resources appropriately, and manages them to a successful conclusion
  • A “doer” with a “roll-up-your-sleeves” attitude who is attracted to the entrepreneurial environment; tenacious and committed
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to effectively communicate and collaborate with both sales force and the customer base
  • Flexible in the face of changing demands and priorities

  • Ability to lead and effectively drive the changes and influence cultural in line with the strategic direction of Netsmart Technologies Inc.


    An undergraduate degree is required and an advanced degree is advantageous.
