Job Description

Job Purpose:

The Client Sales Executive is responsible for consultative selling to Netsmart’s existing client-base. They are responsible for leading sales within a territory. The successful Client Sales Executive can manage and close strategic opportunities with less reliance on leadership. They will understand what motivates customers to buy and know how to tap into those needs and desires in an effective way.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sales Aptitude
    • Owns and delivers on a quota
    • Forecasts accurately and closes business on time
    • Understands the client purchasing process and Netsmart sales process
    • Leads strategic sales pursuits for complex, strategic clients
  • Lead Generation
    • Actively participates in demand generation campaigns to create pipeline
    • Understands and positions new and existing solutions for growth within our current client base
    • Grows opportunities throughout the sales process
    • Uses client successes to identify similar opportunities at similar organizations
  • Task Coordination
    • Effectively leverages tools in place to drive strategic opportunities. These tools include the Netsmart CRM and defined productivity measures
    • Keeps close plans up to date
    • Can work through a strategic sales opportunity with an existing client and effectively handle objections that come up through that process
    • Drives strategic opportunities from discovery to closure
  • Netsmart “Navigator”
    • Leads teams of associates in a strategic sales pursuit
    • Works internally across the matrix to receive necessary inputs and approvals
    • Works with the client relationship and strategy team to help drive client alignment
  • “Product” Functional Expertise
    • Understands and can articulate the value of all relevant solutions and services offered by Netsmart to meet client business needs.
  • Relationship Management
    • Maintains positive C-Level relationships with current clients
    • Uses these relationships to influence the likelihood of a Netsmart win and a short sales cycle
  • Market Expertise
    • Knows the client’s industry and can translate industry topics to Netsmart strategy/solutions
  • Leadership
    • Works as a member of a team and can provide mentorship and critical feedback in a way that inspires its recipient to commit and improve their skills and capabilities

Qualifications:

Education

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of experience and education.  

Specialized skills and knowledge

  • Has proficient communication skills, oral, written, and remote
  • Post Acute Community knowledge preferred
  • Has created and maintained relationships as the primary point of contact for C-suite engagement
  • Comfortable public speaker and leading presentations

Experience

  • Market: HCIT preferred but not required

Skills and Abilities:

PC Skills

  • Microsoft Word – beginner level
  • Microsoft Excel – beginner level
  • Microsoft PowerPoint – beginner level
  • Microsoft Outlook – beginner level, preferred
  • Microsoft Project – beginner level, preferred
  • Microsoft Exchange – beginner level, preferred

Technical Skills Preferred

  • CRM experience, Salesforce preferred

Travel:

Up to 60% domestic travel is expected for this position. This requirement may vary depending on location, and could be up to 60%.

Physical Requirements:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Must be able to work extended hours beyond 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time and constantly operate a computer. Must be able to move to various meeting locations. Frequently communicates with internal, external and executive personnel and must be able to listen and exchange accurate information.
